Join us for the National Audubon Society's 125th Christmas
Bird Count! We'll be counting birds at
both Point Au Roche and Macomb Reservation State Parks from 7:30am-4pm. Contact us to volunteer to count at either

LITTLE EXPLORERS – EVERGREEN TREES!

Join a park naturalist for our
nature-themed story and playtime for ages 0-5! Come explore with stories,
songs, and art projects from 10-10:30, then stay for some outdoor playtime!
Move over deciduous fall leaves, as the land (hopefully) begins to turn white,
it's the glorious evergreens' time to shine! These trees keep growing all
winter long and offer cozy spaces for animals to hide – and they look pretty
great while doing it! Let us show our appreciation for these comforting giants
and adorn one with decorations that can be enjoyed by the critters who call the
park home!

WINTER SOLSTICE WALK AND BONFIRE

Join us for
a twilight walk to celebrate the first day of winter and to welcome the longest
night of the year. Then meet at the Nature Center (starting at 4:30pm) for a
bonfire and hot chocolate to toast the transition to longer days returning! Come for the walk, the bonfire, or both! All ages welcome.

First Day Hike

Welcome in the New Year by exploring the nature trails and looking for wildlife in the diverse habitats of the park. There will be two hikes available: a 3-mile hike, and a 1-mile walk at slower pace. All ages and abilities are welcome! All trails are easy terrain. If we have snow, there may be snowshoe options, Meet-up Location: Nature Center, Approximate distance of hike: 3 miles, Leashed pets welcome.
