Wanderers is a casual and fun program that is offered to walking toddlers,
carriable babies and their caregivers. This will be a beginner's hike/wander
series with not too much distance for toddlers who are ready to move and
caregivers who are willing and able to baby wear and/or carry their toddler if
their legs get too tired. Strollers will not work for these programs. We meet
at the nature center parking lot. $1 per child. Registration is not required
for this program.

Making a Heart Lantern

Therapy Dog at the Warming Hut

volunteer therapy dog! Bryn is a 19-month-old dog who has been training to be a
therapy dog since she was 4 months old. She has been helping people feel
welcome all over Saratoga and Washington county and would love to see you too!

(siblings welcome) Kneehigh Naturalist is a fun introduction to nature. We meet
in the Nature Center where we begin by reading a book or two and then take a
short walk together outdoors, keeping our eyes open for animal tracks, rocks,
feathers, and other signs of the natural world around us. Dress for the

on a moderate-hard 2.5 mile hike from Baker Trail to Moreau Overlook with a
beautiful view of our lake from above. Please wear the appropriate attire for
the weather with sunscreen, and water-resistant hiking shoes. We have micro
spikes and snowshoes to borrow. Bring a snack and plenty of water. We will meet
at the park office and caravan to the trailhead. This hike is free and for

Join a park educator on a convoy-style
journey along the Hudson River to try to spot our local Bald Eagles. We will be
getting in and out of vehicles at a few locations and, with a little luck,
viewing the eagles through binoculars and a scope so make sure to bring your
hat and gloves! If you have binoculars bring them, we do have a couple of pair
to pass around as well. Geared toward ages 13+ Please register in advance by

"Snow Moon" rising above the mountains! This hike is free and is family
friendly and well-behaved dogs on a 6 foot or shorter leash are welcome. To

Luminary Walk

walk down to the beach, the observatory will be open to look at the night sky
and there will be a craft to make a heart lantern at the Warming Hut along with

All About Snow and Snow Sculpting

some snow is great for packing and some snow is dry and dusty? Join our nature
center employees for a presentation on snow! After we know all there is to know

new property, Big Bend. Please be prepared for the weather with warm clothing,
waterproof footwear, water, and a snack. We have limited snowshoes and micro

the dark sky with our telescope. We have a volunteer astronomer to teach us
about the stars! If you have a telescope at home that you need help

“The Big Night” Discussion on Amphibian Migration

Why
did the amphibian cross the road? To get to the vernal pool! Join a Nature
Center educator to learn about "the Big Night", a warm rainy day at
the start of spring when all of the amphibians come out of brumation. We will
discuss NYSDEC Amphibian Migration and Road Crossing Project where volunteers
collect data and help amphibians' cross busy roads. Geared toward ages 13+
but all are welcome.
