The New York Landmarks Conservancy is a private New York City-based NFP preservation organization that administers several funding programs.

The Sacred Sites & Properties Fund provides matching grants for the preservation of religious buildings located in New York State. The historic resource must be owned by a religious organization. Grants are available to all denominations to repair deteriorated roofs, stained glass windows, masonry, and other work items. The maximum award is $10,000. Within this program is the Robert W. Wilson Sacred Sites Challenge, a program that will award matching grants of $25,000 to $50,00 for significant historic church restoration projects.

The Emergency Loan Program provides immediate funding for exterior and structural repairs at small historic properties in dire need. Targeted properties are small mixed-use buildings or residential housing with less than 8 units. The grant cap is $15,000 per property.

The City Ventures Fund assists NFP organizations, community development organizations, social service agencies, and others with bricks and mortar funding for low-income housing projects and other efforts. Grants range from $5,000 to $50,000 and are applied to construction components of building renovation projects. Priority is given to essential structural repairs and exterior work that will have a positive visual impact on the neighborhood. The property does not need to be officially designated a landmark.

The Upper Manhattan Historic Preservation Fund is intended to promote tourism in Harlem through the preservation of its historic sites and neighborhoods. This is a joint project of the Landmarks Conservancy and the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corporation. It provides loans, grants, and related services for the restoration of landmark-quality structures, including houses of worship, commercial, and mixed-use properties. Projects approved by the UMHPF may receive a total of $200,000 in grants and loans.

The Historic Properties Fund provides low interest loans and technical help to property owners in historic districts throughout New York City. Loans range from $15,000 to $200,000 with rates from 3% to market and terms of up to ten years. Loans must be secured through a first or second mortgage or other acceptable collateral.
