Caleb Smith State Park Preserve offers environmental education programs year round for schools at all grade levels. The preserve also offers interpretive programs for youth organizations and the general public including Tiny Tots (3-5 year olds), Fun for Kids, Family Adventures, and Adult Ed-ventures.

The nature museum is in the Smith Family home built in 1751. Nature trails lead you through a variety of habitats typical of the north shore of Long Island where many species of plants and animals are found.

This is a special time for both parent and child to discover the wonders of their natural world together. Each program's theme will use nature explorations and hands-on activities as a springboard for learning. Children ages 3-5. Held on Thursdays: 10:00 - 11:00 am

Junior Angler Fishing Tournament

This fun ‘Catch and Release' Tournament is sponsored by Friends of Caleb Smith. There is a $10 member fee or a $15 non-member fee. All children will receive a t-shirt and goodie bag. Prizes will be awarded.

(Ages 5-8) 9:00 – 11:00 am

(Ages 9-12) 1:00 – 3:00 pm

2016 Junior Angler Freshwater Catch & Release Fishing Tournament

This Fishing Tournament is geared towards girls and boys, ages 5 to 12 years old, and is conducted into two sessions. All bait, hooks and bobblers will be provided. A limited amount of light fishing rods will be available for use at each session; anglers are encouraged to bring their own equipment. Pre-registration is required by calling Caleb Smith State Park Preserve at (631) 265-1054.

$10 for members of the Friends of Caleb Smith Preserve $12.00 for non-members Vehicle use fee in effect

Delve into the rich history of Smithtown with a rare opportunity to view vintage photos of original buildingsAdult Program and aerial views of Smithtown and the Wyandanch Club, which was responsible for saving this precious parcel of land from development. After the presentation, we will tour 2 floors of the old club house.
