Camping and Cabins
Planning your next vacation?
Why not consider staying in one of New York's beautiful state parks? Imagine pitching a tent near the St.
Lawrence River or one of the beautiful lakes or waking up in your recreational vehicle surrounded by the
majesty of the woods or cooking breakfast in a cabin overlooking the "Grand Canyon of the East."
Campsites
New York State is home to 8,355 campsites. While the most popular time to camp is Memorial Day through Labor
Day, many of these facilities are available in the spring, fall and winter.
Cabins
If you enjoy camping but would like additional amenities in a rustic setting, our cabins offer a little more
space, comfort and privacy. Cabins sleep between 2 and 8 people depending on location. Please contact the park
directly to determine what is provided and what you should bring.
Vacation Rentals
For those who wish to vacation in State Parks, while enjoying all the comforts of home, there are several
vacation rentals available that are fully equipped with the latest conveniences, and usually supply everything
from dishes and utensils to bedding. Please contact the park directly to determine the reservation method,
what is provided and what you should bring.
Inns & Conference Centers
Some of our parks offer distinctive accommodations in picturesque inns and exceptional conference centers.
Please contact these facilities directly for reservation information.
Group Camps
Accommodations for Group Camps are available in select locations. Contact the park or regional office for
reservation procedures.
Don't Move Firewood!
Bringing your firewood with you? Most people don't realize they move bugs along with their firewood. You could
be spreading diseases from insect invaders that can quickly kill large numbers of trees. Our forests are at risk
from the transport of firewood infested with tree killers. Help STOP THE SPREAD of these pests:
- Leave firewood at home - do not transport it to campgrounds or parks.
- Use only firewood from local sources.
- If you bring firewood, burn ALL of it before leaving your campsite.
